Lucia Fest 2014

Lucia Fest 2014

Another successful LuciaFest was had by all on December 7th, at the Wicker Park Social Center in Highland, IN.  The Program was perfect and included  all of our old Christmas favorites.  But the highlight was a resounding rendition of "Let It Go" from the Frozen Soundtrack.  Wow!  Tables of delighted Lucia Fest fans partook in our Scandinavian Raffle, bakeesale & Craft table.  The Glogg was gone and it was a record year in sales for that fundraiser.

Viking Festival 2014

Viking Fest (Feast)
2014
November 9

The Nordik Folk Annual Viking Festival grows and gets better and better every year!  This year, the Pearson Hoard grew bigger, the Viking costumes and shields got more elaborate, and we were able to add new foods to the Smorgasbord and the game of Kubb to the lawn outside.  There was also some fun sword play demos that provided for great photo ops.
This all-ages event, open to the public, is a highlight of the Nordik Folk Year.

Scandinavian Kraft Klubb

Scandinavian Kraft Klubb met for the first time in October, at Michael's Craft Store in Highland Indiana to work on  Dalamalning and discuss future projects.  Michael's provided a lovely free space with plenty of working room, sink, and great lighting for us to paint away...and the supplies (if we needed them) right at our fingertips.  What a great turnout!  Attending were Lynda Smith, Ingrid Lesko, Phyllis Kalajian, Shelly Pehlgrim, Shelly Westlund, Tonya Tomky, Janice Tomky and Annelise Nelson.
